What happens after I submit an enquiry?

Nick reads every enquiry personally. You will typically receive a response within 24 hours. If your project is something we can help with, we will suggest an initial conversation (phone or video) to understand your needs in more detail. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you honestly and, where possible, point you toward someone who is.

No. The initial conversation is free and carries no obligation. It is an opportunity for both sides to understand whether there is a good fit between your project needs and our expertise. We will give you an honest assessment of what your project involves, what it is likely to cost, and what the realistic timeline looks like before any fees are discussed.

Fees depend on the scope of work. Some engagements are fixed-fee (feasibility studies, specifications), others are day-rate based (project management, quality assurance). We will always agree the fee structure before work begins, and there are no hidden costs. For funded projects, our fees are typically included in the funding application as a legitimate project cost.

Yes. While we often recommend contractors and manufacturers based on our independent assessment, we are happy to work with your preferred suppliers. Our role is to ensure the specification is right and that the installation meets it, regardless of who is doing the work. If you have an existing relationship with a contractor, we can provide the independent oversight that protects your investment.

No. Many clients come to us with a general idea (‘we need a new pitch’) but no specific surface in mind. That is exactly what our feasibility and design service is for. We help you understand what type of surface best suits your needs, your budget, and your site conditions. You do not need to be a technical expert; that is our job.

A new-build project typically takes 12-18 months from initial feasibility to completed facility, depending on complexity, planning requirements, and funding timelines. Resurfacing projects are faster. They’re often 8-12 weeks from specification to completion. The longest single element is usually the funding application process, which can take 6-12 months depending on the funder. We can advise on realistic timescales for your specific project during the initial conversation.

Yes. We regularly join projects at mid-stage. For example, providing quality assurance during construction, advising on specification changes, or resolving disputes between clients and contractors. If something has gone wrong with your project, we can also act as expert witnesses or provide independent assessment and remediation advice.

Yes. We work extensively with independent schools, multi-academy trusts (MATs), state schools, and universities. School projects often have specific requirements around multi-sport capability, community lettings revenue, curriculum use, and capital budget constraints. We understand these requirements and can tailor our approach accordingly, including advising on indoor sports facilities, which many competitors decline.

Yes. We provide in-house AutoCAD drawings, InfoDrainage calculations, and planning application support. We engage with planning authorities directly and can handle planning conditions discharge. Where possible, we incorporate biodiversity net gain into planning applications, which significantly strengthens the case for approval. We also manage engagement with local communities and other stakeholders where planning is contentious.

We are based in the UK and work across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. Yes, we visit every project site. Site assessment is a fundamental part of our process. We also carry out our own topographical surveys using RTK-corrected GNSS technology, so we do not need to subcontract this to a third party. Travel costs to your site are included in our quoted fees.
